Going through a divorce is never simple. This is why you should be willing to do whatever it takes to ease the pain and stress associated with the process.

Through mediation, you may be able to deal with all aspects of divorce without spending any time in court.

Before you decide for or against divorce mediation, here are a few questions you need to answer:

— What is the role of a mediator in mediation?

— How does the divorce mediation process unfold?

— How are court documents filed following successful mediation?

— How long does it take for divorce mediation to run its course?

— Is it true that divorce mediation can be more affordable than the traditional divorce process?

— How is it possible for two people going through divorce to get along during mediation?

— Is it possible that a divorce case could be too complex for mediation?

— What happens if both parties are unable to agree on all issues?

By answering these divorce mediation questions, you will better understand what to expect if you go down this path.

Note: Your answers may not be the same as the next person. For example, one couple could complete mediation after two sessions, but it could take you considerably longer.

As you learn more about divorce mediation, you could soon decide that this is the best way for you and your former partner to put your relationship in the past. If nothing else, it is a good idea to learn more about mediation, such as by answering any questions that are weighing on your mind.
