A parenting plan can make your hectic holidays easier to manage

| Nov 30, 2016 | child custody

During the holidays, a parenting plan can make life much easier. Knowing where your child will be and what’s expected of you during this very busy and hectic time is an absolute necessity. A parenting plan has to be approved by a court, so you and your ex should work on this with enough time to allow the court to review and approve your requests.

There may be cases where you need to allow for supervised visitation, and those are special situations where the Florida Court will need to identify the best way to allow the person affected to visit with his or her child during holidays and events. Once decided, make sure that whoever the supervisor will be is able to be present at the time of the visitation, particularly during busy times of the year like the Christmas holiday.

If you and the other parent can’t agree on a parenting arrangement, then you are in a position where the court could create a plan for you. It’s in your best interest and the interest of your child to come to an agreement that you and the other parent can work with, because a court’s ruling is final and must be followed precisely.

Working out a parenting agreement as soon as possible can help you work through not only the holidays, but the rest of your custody arrangements, so you can put your energy back into raising your child. Whether you trade years or work out a way to spend the holidays together, the right parenting plan can make all the difference.
